The award winning Community Toolkit online resource was first launched in 2004 in Skye & Lochalsh, where it was initially developed as a partnership project involving local community groups, Skye and Lochalsh Council for Voluntary Organisations, the local Enterprise Company and the local authority.
In 2007, the Community Toolkit resource became a COSLA Excellence Award Winner, taking first place in the Advancing Community Well Being category in recognition of the quality service it delivers to grass roots community groups.
Since 2006, the Community Toolkit has been available as a syndicate feed, and is now featured as an integral part of the online services of Third Sector Interface organisations across Scotland.
In November 2011, Skye and Lochalsh CVO celebrated formal recognition for their ‘commitment to excellence’ following completion of the internationally recognised quality standards programme, EFQM.
The Committed to Excellence status award recognises that the stakeholder involvement processes adopted by Skye & Lochalsh CVO in the continued development of the Community Toolkit, are consistent with the inclusive approach that they apply to every aspect of their organisation’s services and management. It also emphasises Skye & Lochalsh CVO’s commitment to ensuring that the Community Toolkit resource is quality driven and that it continues to respond to the changing needs of community groups across Scotland. |
